A place to get 3rd, 4th, nth opinion
on a current project.

Disclaimer

This rarely happens but on occasion I will need to get additional opinion especially when the client and I have reached an impasse; and in need of a tie breaker.  If you are visiting this page it's because I asked for your help. So, I appreciate your opinion. Thank you.

BRIEF

Client | Custom Door Boutique

The client is a  Carpenter who specializes in the design and installation of custom doors. Ideally, he would like to cater to a higher end clientele and as a result would like a logo that would represent this.
From our conversation he would like a logo that's a blend of elegant and contemporary, if that's possible to combine.
In the past he has worked on doors that have involved a cartouche styled patterns (floral, swirls, more traditional). Still he loves contemporary work and living in San Diego, California one can find both sets of upscale clients. Personally, I don't feel he needs to pick from either one. So, my logo design is trying to capture the essence of his desire. Therefore, I've picked some elements that reflects these in the sketches I've come up with.

THE DILEMA

Personally, I haven't done a retro style logo before and I feel picking #1 from sketch 1 would allow me to accomplish that. However, I have a bias for contemporary style. The client loves the sketches I've come up with and his top 3 are #s 1, 6, 8 in no particular order. However, my top 3 in the order from my favorite to least are #s 6, 1 and 3.
